Did you know the Gladiator is not a new model? "The Jeep Gladiator, Jeep Pickup or J-series is a series of full-size pickup trucks based on the large Jeep SJ (Wagoneer) platform, which was built and sold under numerous marques from 1962 to 1988. The Jeep Gladiator / Pickup design is noteworthy for remaining in production for more than 26 years on a single automobile platform generation." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeep_Gladiator_(SJ)
I still see one of the JS series here and there. I suspect that most of them have devolved into a pile of rust.
Pretty cute, them things...(the refurbished ones, mind you). ------------------------------------------------------------
A friend of mine had one years ago. He sorta did the Baja theme with it...front bull bar, KC Lights, roll bar, more KC lights, block lift, taller mud tires, etc...The biggest mod was a GM small block with TH400 trans and old Dana differentials. The thing was a blast to take out into the mountains and the sand.
Man I remember those when they were on the roads, especially oin the 80s. Never knew they had a gladiator model before they started calling them jeep truck. Honestly glad they brought the moniker back. Love the name.
Always loved the old gladiator trucks from the 60s/70s. Wanted one but never had the chance to buy one. Decent tires and wheels made em look badass imo
